The Government of Japan donated a total of RM 324,804 (US$ 103,145) to the “Beautiful Gate for the Disabled” under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects. The handing over ceremony was held on 24th June at the clubhouse in the Lake Edge, Puchong. The details of the project are as follows;

Summary of the project:
-Grant amount: RM 324,804 (US$ 103,145)
-Donated items: Production and set-up cost for 180 recycling bins, a truck used for the garbage collection
-Recipient: Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled
RM 324,804 (US$ 103,145) was donated to the “Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled” by the Government of Japan in order to produce and set up 180 recycling bins and to purchase a truck to increase employment opportunities in the recycling industry, and to facilitate vocational training on separation of recycled items as well as supporting activities for the handicapped people by enhancing the garbage collection efficiency.
The handing over ceremony opened with a speech of appreciation by Ms. Sia Siew Chin, the Executive Director of Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled, followed by speeches by Y.B. Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh and National Vice Chairperson of DAP and Mr. Yoshinori Kodama, Minister, Embassy of Japan in Malaysia.
It is expected that this project will further facilitate the self-support and social participation of the handicapped people in Malaysia.
